Pay Rate: £13.25 per hour
Summary of Position:
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for planning and directing food preparation & food service in kitchen. This involves a large degree of supervising other kitchen staff, as well as keeping an eye out for problems that arise in the kitchen. May also need to effectively discipline underperforming staff members, as well as provide incentives for staff members to go above and beyond the expectations of their particular roles.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise Kitchen employees and organise food orders as well as work alongside them. To spend time in the kitchen to ensure that the operation is managed well by the Team.
Lead and manage the kitchen goods stocking-ordering-receiving, food preparation, cooking process and service.
Store all food products in compliance with Health & Safety regulations, ensure the kitchen is clean and organised. Ensure that food stock levels within areas are of sufficient quantity and quality.
To frequently verify that only the highest quality products are used in food preparation. To ensure that all food products received are of the required standard and quality and that they are stored and rotated correctly.
Monitor inventory levels and perform inventory assessments. To initiate relevant maintenance reports and work orders supported by the respective follow up of those items actioned.
Ensure that all food preparation equipment is being used safely and correctly and that it is cleaned and maintained.
Organise standard recipe cards and ensure that all food items are prepared accordingly whilst maintaining portion control and minimising waste. Ensure that the department adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Recruit and train kitchen employees. Organise their yearly appraisals following PPG Guidelines. Responsible for staff scheduling ensuring that weekly work schedules and annual leave planners are administered and filed correctly.
Able to make recommendations to the Lounge Manager regarding succession planning. Identify strengths and weaknesses and provide timely feedback to the individual.
Ensure that Staff are always in clean tidy uniforms and are always presentable to be in guest view.
Ensure that guests are always receiving an exceptional dining experience representing true value for money. Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
Ensure that meetings are well planned and results-orientated.
To fully understand the market needs and desires for each outlet and ensure that the menus are developed to reflect those needs.
To project a positive and motivated attitude among all associates.
To delegate responsibilities to subordinates as required.
To act as manager on duty for the lounge as scheduled.

The days and times of work will be on rota basis over 7 days
