One Resourcing Ltd are extremely proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, with the opportunity to join them on a temporary assignment working alongside the Accounts Department. They specialise in aerospace and global logistics, working with major airlines, parts traders, MROs, and aerospace investors, known for their honest approach, smooth operations, and smart solutions.

Position: Accounts Assistant

Contract: Temporary

Office Hours: 09:00-17:00 (22.5 hours per week/ 3 days in office)

Location: Horsham

Hourly Rate: £14.00 – £15.00 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing:

We are currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and fast-paced Accounts Department. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Your day-to-day tasks will include handling invoices, preparing remittances, and assisting with monthly and quarterly financial reporting.

Day-To-Day:

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Post supplier invoices in GBP and foreign currencies to Sage
  • Post customer invoices to Sage
  • Generate and send supplier invoice remittances for end-of-month and ad-hoc payments
  • Process credit card payments and reconcile credit card statements
  • Verify new supplier bank details

Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Reconcile bank statements (weekly)
  • Reconcile fuel card statements
  • Assist with VAT return preparation (quarterly)
  • Support in preparing data for Year-End accounts

Process Improvement

  • Maintain and update written work instructions for key tasks
  • Contribute to streamlining and documenting finance processes

Communication & Collaboration

  • Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to ensure timely resolution of invoice and payment issues
  • Escalate overdue payment matters promptly to appropriate staff

Qualifications, Behaviours & Experience:

  • Previous experience in accounting and/or credit control
  • Proficient in SAGE 50 or similar accounting software
  • Solid Excel and data entry skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
  • Comfortable dealing with customers and cross-functional teams
